Top Tips for the Interview
- Do not assume anything. Ensure you talk about information on your CV.
- Take time to think about your answer before your answer, ask for clarification if you don’t understand the question.
- Expand on an answer – never answer a question yes or no.
- The interview is an opportunity for you to sell yourself and impress – don’t hold back, back up skills with examples.
- Be positive, don’t complain about your previous role or the company, it won’t bode well with the new organisation.
- In terms of your manner and body language, try to ensure the following - be confident, positive and look directly at the interviewer when you talk and listen, speak clearly, be enthusiastic
- Express a keen interest in the position, keep to the point and be concise. Always ask questions to wrap up the interview.
- Follow up with a letter/email thanking them for their time and the opportunity.
